Traders are Gods!

They control the air we breathe :  Road are occupied by them without any regard to the pedestrians or other road-users, thus, causing vehicle pile-up and pollution.  More airborne diseases, more money to the traders who sell only costly medicine (even Govt cannot compel them to sell essential drugs at cheaper price!).  More vendors, more collection of interest by way of lending to the start-up business.

They control the water we drink :  Leave alone linking of rivers, every drop of water we drink pass through the dirty hands of the illegal traders engaged in the business of selling natural resources at premium.  There is no guarantee with regard to the quality and there is no system of checking, too.  If they wish, they can poison and eliminate population of an entire area with just one load of water-cans and law will take it own course of decades to fix the responsibility as to who is Guilty!!!

They decide what to cultivate and we have to eat the produce which is affordable and available :  Like recent Onion shortage which was created intentionally by some brilliant traders who were getting less profit from Gold, traders decide what produce and what quantity is to be available in the market.

So, isn't our Traders are Gods?????

Indigenous appointments

It is well settled law that a Govt servant's kin cannot claim Employment as a matter of right!  But, practically, even well-settled (who are having crores of property) are the ones who utilize the opportunity whenever such opportunity arise.  If we analyze the data of such employments, we will be shocked to note that around  60% of appointments are on this basis only.  Another stunning aspect is, most of the death occurs due to bad habits of the employees (like alcoholism, drunken-driving/accident caused due to intoxicants, drugs and aids, etc.,).  Social development does get hampered due to such type of privilege extended to undeserved categories.

Appreciable action of administration against Union

In a low-profile news (such type of news never get vast coverage, so as to keep the public in dark), NLC (Neyveli Lignite Corporation) served notices to the Unions which do not have recognition of the labor to pay the electricity bill dues of the building occupied by those unions as well as asked them to vacate the unauthorised occupation of premises.

To earn easy bucks, everyone starts their own union and accumulate funds and also enjoy the freedom (of not to attend their duties for which they are employed).  These were the part of unions which disobeyed the Madras High Court's orders to discontinue their illegal strike.  For the irrational benefit of few, revenue earning industries are ruined by the unionism!  Railways is another example, where every railway station in the country is littered with their union propaganda materials (even for retirement of a low-level employee, they paste posters with all the persons' names all over the country's railway stations every nook and corner, as if the person retiring is some national freedom fighter!).  Out of curiosity, when enquired an employee engaged in Poster-affixing duty (!), he said that like him there are several others whose duty is to look after the union activity and nothing else!  Besides duty-off, they enjoy the added privilege of liquor and food!

If the administration follows strict rules with regard to union activities, exploitation/loss of valuable man-hours can be reduced to a remarkable extent.  But, who cares?

Relief to corrupt on filmsy, technical grounds

In a recent Madras High Court Judgment, a Tahsildar who was suspended for bribery got relief on filmsy/technical grounds.  The law says, a Govt servant can be suspended from the service if he was under custody for more than 48 hours.  In this case, the individual was in custody for 24 hours when the suspension order was served upon.  The Hon'ble Judge, however, gave liberty (!) to the Govt to suspend him afresh on the grounds of ''pending disciplinary action''.  One has to follow-up this particular case as to whether the individual has been placed under suspension or he still continues to eat Govt funds as well as income through corruption!!!

An interesting case law!

Pre & Post independence era

Through our history books we were taught how the British in the disguise of Merchants entered into our country which were then ruled by several kings and they have exploited all our weak, illiterate ancestors to loot our country's wealth.  This was pre-independence scenario.

The current scenario is our own country-men in the disguise of Merchants have looted us more than what British has done the damage.

Lakhs of crores of rupees have been accumulated by very few (say, some 50,000 odd people).

It seems that another freedom struggle to free ourselves from our own corrupt elements is the only way to attain True Independence!
